NEW TELEHEALTH BILLING POLICY

During COVID we extended our consultations to include Telehealth telephone consultations. These have been extremely popular with patients and we are pleased to confirm that these consultations will remain on offer until at least the 31st March 2022.

The federal government has made some changes to the Telehealth item numbers

and eligibility on the 1st October 2020. These changes have prompted a review of our Telehealth billing policies.

Please note that these changes will commence from Monday the 12th October 2020.

Telehealth billing changes are outlined below:

Bulk billing for Telehealth for patients on a concession card will continue ie patients that hold a pension card, Commonwealth seniors health care card, health care card and patients under 16 years of age.

Telehealth appointments for care planning, Chronic disease management or Mental health care plans will also continue to be bulk billed.

Patients who do not hold a concession card or who are over the age of 16, a new Telehealth consultation fee will apply for some visits. This fee is claimable from medicare with an out of pocket expense of $20.

Please contact the practice to make payment after your Telehealth consult on 32054088.

We understand that 2020 has been challenging and many of our patients and their families have been significantly impacted financially and emotionally from COVID19.

We acknowledge that often people put their health on hold in times of financial uncertainty which can lead to a deterioration in health.

We wish for all our patients to feel supported. If you have any concerns regarding the new billing policy, please contact our practice manager for assistance on 3205 4088.
