Annual vaccination is the most important measure to prevent influenza and its complications and is recommended for all people aged 6 months and over.
Free vaccines will be available to eligible Queenslanders from mid-April.
Am I eligible for a free vaccine?
Influenza vaccination is strongly recommended and funded on the NIP for the following groups:
ï‚· all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
ï‚· all children aged 6 months to <5 years
ï‚· all adults aged ≥65 years
ï‚· all people aged ≥6 months with medical conditions listed in Table 1 which increase the risk of influenza complications ï‚· pregnant women (during any stage of pregnancy).
